IKT Patron: Donald G. Wenzel Jr.

Meet Donald G. Wenzel Jr., an esteemed IKT Patron from Louisville, KY, USA, whose life embodies a captivating blend of art, heritage, and a passion for artistic expression.

After nearly 30 years of work with large financial institutions, Donald is now dedicating this chapter of his life to more personal pursuits - artistic endeavors for the collection; continued grooming of Rockdale, the ca. 1780s historic property which is now his personal residence; travel; and relishing in the love and company of family and friends.

Art takes on a central role in Donald’s daily life as he aptly explaines: “I relate to the world visually, so art is central to my daily life.  At its foundation, art is about visual engagement – and that doesn’t mean just the experience we have when we visit a museum. We have a constant visual relationship with the world as we navigate our daily lives. I believe as humans we all have creative capacity and capability, and a desire to better understand the creative process. This belief is evidenced by the long arc of history where the role of art has been fundamental to our humanity.“

When asked about why he chose to support the IKT, Donald shared: “I was introduced to IKT through Julien Robson when the IKT Congress was held in Louisville last year (2022).  The creative electricity of the IKT community was immediately captivating and inspiring!  Though I am most certainly ‘out of my curatorial league’ in the company of IKT pedigree, I found myself drawn in by the opportunity to learn what is foreign and unknown to me (the quest for continual learning), particularly in the areas of art technology, artists and strategists in the field of NFT, crypto arts and the Metaverse.  As such, I wanted to support the good work of this organization. I look forward to deeper engagement with the IKT community, and the opportunity to continue expanding my artistic and cultural journey of life.”
