SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2024
The SAC International Curatorial Residency Program for 2024 is the residency program hosted by Barcelona's Sant Andreu Contemporani, in collaboration with Fabra i Coats - Fàbrica de Creació and Institut Ramon Llull, designed for international curators. Within this program, an open call for proposals has been announced to select an international curator who will serve as a member of the jury for the Miquel Casablancas Prize for the Visual Arts in 2024. Subsequently, the chosen curator will develop a curatorial project in collaboration with a group of Catalan artists selected from the applicants for the prize. The curator is expected to present this project either in their country of residence or at another international venue of their choosing.
The residency program covers the expenses related to jurying the prize (1,700 €, subject to applicable taxes), the production of the exhibition (2,000 €, subject to applicable taxes), as well as accommodation and travel.
The primary aim of the open call is to provide the curator with a deeper understanding of the art context by involving them in the Miquel Casablancas Prize jury, and to facilitate future collaborations between local and foreign cultural entities within the realm of emerging artistic talent.
The registration period for submitting applications will run from October 1st, 2023, to February 1st, 2024. The submission form will remain available on the website until midnight on February 1st, 2024. Please note that no applications will be accepted after this deadline. In case of any technical issues with the online registration, the required documents should be sent by mail before midnight on February 1st, 2024.
The selected applicant will be announced on February 25th, 2024. You can access the application form on Sant Andreu Contemporani’s website.
