Contemporary art exhibition exploring the intersections of political power and bodily autonomy.
Drawing from the apple’s symbolic weight—temptation, knowledge, sustenance, and control—the exhibition juxtaposes it with the surreal, sometimes absurd nature of political leadership.
How does power take shape? How do gestures, rituals, and spoken words influence our perception of those who lead and those who follow? Through performance, sculpture, video, and installation, artists interrogate the ways political bodies (both literal and institutional) exert influence over personal bodies.
The exhibition examines the grotesque, theatrical, and often bizarre nature of authority, questioning how power manifests physically—through speech, gesture, consumption, and discipline.
Balancing irony, satire, and visual storytelling, Apples and Strange Presidents offers a space for reflection on the ways we navigate systems of influence. This exhibition serves as a space for both personal and political exploration, where each facet achieves its own form of excess.
