KMAC
715 W Main St, Louisville, KY 40202
KMAC is a contemporary art museum in downtown Louisville. Divided We Fall is a triennial exhibition curated by the IKT member Joey Yates (KMAC Curatorial Director) and Anna Blake (KMAC Curatorial Assistant).
After an inaugural edition in 2019, the second instalment of the KMAC Triennial will open on August 27, 2022, further establishing the exhibition as a leading platform for presenting the vast creativity and the distinct, but varied identities of artists from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and its growing diaspora.
The 2022 Triennial, Divided We Fall features artists who work across multiple creative disciplines including painting, sculpture, textile, photography, printmaking, and multimedia installation. In reference to the Kentucky state motto of United We Stand, Divided We Fall, the work in the exhibition will connect concerns relevant to the geographic region with issues that define the larger national narrative, revealing how the landscape can be a site of conflict and resistance, as well as a place of unity and mutual respect.
Some of the artists featured in the exhibition are: Tammy Burke, Jon Cherry, Ceirra Evans, J. Daniel Graham, Bruce Linn, Ebony G. Patterson, José Manuel Nápoles Puerto, Hannah Smith, Norman Spencer.
