Membership Application Process
IKT - International Associan of Curators of Contemporary Art represents the professional and cultural interests of those persons who organise exhibitions of contemporary art worldwide on a mainly non-commercial basis in public and private institutions. Candidates applying for membership in IKT must demonstrate active involvement as curators (at least 3 years) and be primarily engaged in non-commercial work whether in public or private institutions or as independent curators.
Before you begin, ensure you have the following documents ready:
Motivational Statement: A brief statement (max. 800 words) explaining your interest in joining IKT. Accepted file formats: docx, doc, pdf, txt.
Resume/CV: Include a detailed list of curated exhibitions (year, title, institution/space). Accepted file formats: docx, doc, pdf, txt.
ID Photo or Portrait Picture: A digital photo suitable for a membership card (minimum 150 dpi). Accepted file formats: png, jpg, tiff, heic.
Once we receive your application, it will be presented to the IKT board for review.
If the IKT Board supports your membership application, the General Assembly has to officially confirm your membership. The General Assembly holds the annual meetings during the IKT Congresses.
If you are not able to attend we will inform you of the General Assembly's decision via e-mail.
The annual membership fee is €50,00, two years is €100,00 and a special rate of €135,00 for a three-year membership. Please refrain from paying the membership fee until your application has been officially confirmed by the General Assembly. Further details will be provided upon confirmation.
