Meet Catrin Menai

Catrin Menai creates narrative driven works using the communicative potential of everyday objects, gestures, and place. Collaborations with people, literature and landscapes, form bodies of ‘research’, a kind of live correspondence in which meaning can be found in the transactional and the temporal, and where the inarticulate, the error or tension finds concrete manifestation and is recognized. Considering attention as a material, her work is held within a syntax of relations and transfers , considering movement as a kind of knowledge.

For the last six months, Catrin has been working and living on Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), and the work produced for SYRFDANOL is a recent reflection on her time spent on this remote island: a site of unity and expansion.

IKT delegates will get an opportunity to experience Catrin’s work firsthand, when visiting HAUS artist studios in Llandudno during IKT Congress 2023.
