Arrival in Doha

• 8:30am – 9:30am: Registration and check-in at NU-Q / mm:museum

• 9:30am – 10:30am: Light breakfast and guided tour of exhibition NU-Q / mm:museum

• 11:00am– 1:00pm: IKT Members Forum at NU-Q / mm:museum

• 1:30pm: Buses depart to Fire Station

• 2:00pm – 3:30pm: Guided tour of venue and artists’ studios

• 4:00pm: Buses depart to Richard Serra’s desert installation

• 5:00pm – 6:00pm: Visit of desert installation

• 6:30pm: Buses depart to Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art

• 7:00pm – 9:00pm: Welcome and preview of Your Ghosts Are Mine

• 9:00pm: Buses depart to hotel

 DAY 3 Thursday, April 10, 2025

Part 1 of the Symposium at NU-Q / mm:museum

• 8:30am: Buses depart the hotels

• 9:00am – 11:30am: IKT General Assembly (Members only) at Museum of Islamic Art (refreshment provided). The election of the IKT President and Board members will also take place during this session.

• 11:30am  – 12:30pm: Guided tour of Museum of Islamic Art exhibitions

• 1:00pm: Buses depart to NQ / mm:museum

• 1:30pm –4:00pm: IKT Doha-part Symposium at NU-Q / mm:museum. Event open to public (light lunch provided at breakout session)

• 4:30pm: Buses depart to National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ)

• 5:30pm – 7:00pm: Galleries visit (welcome and introduction, followed by self-navigation) at NMoQ

• 7:00pm - 9:00pm Light Dinner at Jiwan, NMoQ

• 9:30pm : Buses depart to hotels

 DAY4: Friday, April 11, 2025

All delegates depart Doha, Qatar for Abu Dhabi, UAE.

• 7:30am: Bus departs hotel for airport, for flight Doha > Abu Dhabi (10:30am departure)

• Group B:

• 9:30am: Bus departs hotel for airport (10:30 departure)

• Group A (Flight QR 1044) arrives Abu Dhabi at 10:55 am

• 11:45am: Group A Bus departs to villa studio of studios of Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian (lunch boxes provided)

• 12:15pm: Group A arrives to tour studios

• 1:15pm: Group A departs for hotel

• 2:30pm: Group A arrives and checks in to Le Royal Meridien Hotel

• Group B (Flight EY 662) arrives in Abu Dhabi at 12:45 pm

• 1:30pm: Group B Bus departs airport for hotel (lunch boxes provided)

• 2:00pm: Group B arrives and checks in to Le Royal Meridien Hotel

• 3:00pm: Buses depart for Louvre Abu Dhabi

• 3:30pm: Arrival and welcome by Director to the Louvre Abu Dhabi

• 3:45: Visit to exhibition “Kings and Queens of Africa: Forms and Figures of Power” and permanent collection

• 5:00pm: Buses depart for 421

• 5:30pm: Arrival and welcome to 421. Tours of exhibitions “Abdullah Al Saadi: Sites of Memory, Sites of Amnesia” and “Alla Abdunabi: Are your memories of me enough for you?” Alternate with tour to meet artists-in-residence

• 7:00pm: Dinner at 421, hosted by 421

• 9:00pm: Buses depart for hotel

 DAY 5: Saturday, April 12, 2025

Part 2 of the Symposium at NYU Abu Dhabi

• 8:30am: Buses depart hotels for NYU Abu Dhabi.

• 9:00am: Symposium arrival, coffee, and registration.

• 9:45am –1:00pm: Symposium, Abu Dhabi half

• 1:00pm-2:00pm: Lunch with Delegates and Speakers

• 2:15pm–3:15pm: Tours of Art Gallery exhibition “Between the Tides: A Gulf Quinquennial,” and the Arts Center (MFA, faculty, etc.)

• 3:30pm:

• Group A and B depart for Public Art Biennial and Cultural Foundation.

• Alternate: Group C (self-nominated) departs for studios of Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian.

• 6:00pm: All groups converge at Cultural Foundation for exhibition “Maitha Abdalla: Between Metamorphosis and Reality” and “To Know Malaysia is to Love Malaysia: Highlights from The AFK Collection.” Alternate with tour for studio visits.

• 8:00pm: Dinner hosted by DCT. (Location TBD).

• 10:00pm: Buses depart for hotels.

 DAY 6: Sunday, April 13, 2025

• 8:00am: check out of hotel.

• 8:30am: Buses depart hotel

  Group Arrival in Dubai

• 10:00am –12:00am: Welcome at Jameel Arts Centre. Coffee and pastries, and tour of exhibitions.

• 12:30pm: Buses depart to Smita Prabhakar private residence

• 1:00pm –1:45pm: Introduction and tour by Director & Curator of the Ishara Art Foundation & Prabhakar Collection at the residence of Smita Prabhakar

• 2:00pm: Buses depart to Ishara Art Foundation @ Alserkal Avenue

• 2:30pm – 3:30pm: Light Lunch and exhibition tour by Curator of ‘Shilpa Gupta: Lines of Flight’ at the Ishara Art Foundation

• 4:00pm – 6:00pm: Welcome to Alserkal Avenue by Director + guided tours of the art district and galleries visit (group divided in four)

• 6:30pm – 7:30pm: Preview of Imran Quraishi’s exhibition at Concrete.

• 7:30pm – 9:00pm: Dinner reception hosted by Alserkal and Efie Gallery.

• 9:30pm: Buses depart to Hotels

• NOTE optional bus to event at Bayt Al Mamzar for event (TBC)

 DAY 7: Monday, April 14, 2025

• 10:00am: Buses depart for Sharjah

  Group arrival in Sharjah

• 12:00pm: Arrival at Sharjah Art Foundation & Biennial

• 12:00–12:30pm: Refreshments and welcome by SAF Leadership team, and Curators’ introduction and overview of the Biennial

• 12:30–5:00pm: Self-navigated visit assisted by Visitor Services team of “Sharjah Biennial 16: to carry” main venues & Barjeel Art Foundation Collection at Sharjah Art Museum

• (lunch provided 2:00pm – 3:30pm at Bait Al Shamsi)

• 5:00 pm: Buses depart to Maraya Art Center

• 5:30–6:30pm: Welcome by Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi, Founder of Barjeel Art Foundation, and tour of the exhibition at Maraya Art Center 

• 7:00–9:00pm: Dinner reception hosted by Sharjah Art Foundation, Maraya Art Center and Barjeel Art Foundation at Al Qasba

• 9:30pm Buses depart to Hotels in Dubai

  Delegates are welcome to extend their stay at their own discretion to explore the Sharjah Biennale satellite venues, attend the Art Dubai preview starting on 16 April 2025, and/or travel to Jeddah, KSA, to visit the Islamic Art Biennale, which runs until 24 May 2025. Please note that these activities are not part of the official congress programme.
